Dining Room

A Hint of the Ancient

Our dining room will have a theme representing ancient Greece and Rome.  Pillars, statuettes, grapes, and vinery will be the general decor.  The color scheme will be from the purple and gray families.

The bottom 1/3rd of the wall will be a concord grape color, the top section will be a very light gray.  Borders and trims will be a slightly darker gray or silver color.  We want to replace the door with the intention of finding a suitable design for both the interior and exterior sides of the house.

This is a long room, extending across the full front of the dwelling.  A large archway will be constructed to divide the room into two sections, but will carry the same design throughout.  Window coverings will consist of gray panel curtains that puddle on the floor, topped with purple scarves.

The mirror tile will be removed.  The table, although not ancient in appearance, will stay.  It is a family heirloom.  We will need to install overhead lighting, as the current "chandelier" is simply a corded fixture.  Some black wrought iron accessories, such as wall sconces and candelabras, will be used for accents.  We'll have some framed artwork up as well.
