Heart of the Orient
The upstairs is actually divided into two rooms; however we plan to knock down some walls and make the entire area into a master bedroom. The color scheme will be black and tan, with red, gold and green accents. We'll use asian decor, such as kanji, orchids, figurines, and silk.
The corner section here is actually the furnace flue, so it's not going anywhere, but we're looking for a way to knock out the wall on the right, to conjoin the two rooms into one. The entrances to the closet space are small, and there are four altogether all along the wall. |
We're going to carpet the upstairs, most likely in an emerald green color. The ceiling tiles are bowing in due to old water damage, and will be replaced with drywall. There are quite a few holes in the walls, so they will be drywalled again and painted. |
The window coverings will consist of blinds, with decorative, rice-paper style shutters. Drywall will be painted beige or cream, ceilings will be painted off-white. |
This is the other half of the room. The center pillar is the bathroom vent, and two of the four closet doors can be seen. The closet doors are going to resemble traditional temple doors. |
Paneling will be removed and replaced with drywall, again painted cream or beige. The rice-paper shutters will be in this half of the upstairs, too. |
The window AC unit needs to be replaced. |
